Since my team doesn't really do mid-year reviews (at least not yet) I don't have a lot to say about it, except that if we did do mid-year reviews I'd hope not being an asshat, was all it took.
Title: There's no way I'll meet expectations by end of year.
Snarky: My mid-year review just said, "Don't be an asshat."
I'm reading a book at the moment that says a salary/hire technique is to demand a mid year review in order to assess performance and adjust salary.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Scooter. Mid-year reviews are important to make sure that both the manager's and the employee's expectations are being met. It is a good time to review goals, and make sure that both parties are happy with the other's performance so far that year.
